Run a larger firm from one view of the work

When the practice runs partners, managers, advisory and compliance teams and more than one office, AccountKit keeps the client list, the jobs and the permissions somewhere your operations lead can actually run them.

Where it gets stuck

The problems that show up once a firm passes fifty people.

None of these are about effort. They come from the work being spread across more people than a spreadsheet can hold.

What fixes it

Workflow

One practice-wide view of every job, its owner, status and due date. Custom views let a partner, a team lead or one accountant save exactly the slice they need, and everyone reads from the same list.

Where to start

The starting stack most larger practices need on day one.

Each piece runs from the client list you already keep in Xero Practice Manager, so nothing has to be re-keyed to roll it out.

  1. Colleagues reviewing practice-wide work together

    01Workflow

One overview of every team’s jobs.

Status flows, work types, recurring templates and a daily plan for each person, all reading from the same jobs.

    See workflow
  2. An accountant holding client folders and a calculator

    02Documents

Mail and files filed to the group, not to a person.

The correspondence register, direct links to the client folder in your DMS, and e-signing through Annature or FuseSign.

    See document management
  3. A larger practice team reviewing financial reports

    03Compliance tools

The same schedules, run the same way by every team.

Division 7A, inter-entity loans and equipment finance keep their data between years and post matching journals to Xero.

Rollout, permissions, offices and procurement

What your operations lead and your IT reviewer will ask about.

The answers below are the ones on our security and pricing pages, so your procurement pack and this page say the same thing.

  1. 01Rollout

Onboarding is built into every plan.

Each plan includes a mandatory onboarding package of four to eight hours of training, depending on the plan, split between calls and support. Your client list syncs from Xero Practice Manager, so setup starts from data you already keep.

    See onboarding by plan
  2. 02Permissions

    Access follows the person’s role.

Advanced user permissions on the Practice plan, user roles in workflow templates, practice authorities for who can be assigned what, and guest access limited to specific clients. Access is based on the principle of least privilege.

    See roles in workflow
  3. 03Offices

Every office works from the same client list.

The whole firm works in one cloud tenant, so a second office sees the same client groups, jobs and correspondence as the first, and each team saves its own custom views.

  4. 04Procurement and security

ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified, with MFA for every user.

Multi-factor authentication is mandatory, with authenticator apps and SSO options and tenant-level password policies. Data is hosted in AWS Sydney, encrypted with TLS 1.2+ in transit and AES-256 at rest, independently penetration tested and exportable at any time.

Plan fit

Larger firms start on the Practice plan.

It’s the plan with the controls a firm this size asks for, and it includes everything in Compliance and Professional.

Usually the right planPractice

  • Advanced user permissions
  • The full workflow tool, with templates and repeating tasks
  • Knowledge Centre
  • Email integration, e-sign automations and advanced DMS
  • 140 accounting connections, with five users included

Additional users, guest access and extra connection packs are priced per month on the pricing page.
